Eliza snuck a couple of ear infections home with her from China. She unpacked them about ten days ago, and we've spent much of this week trying to get things back to "normal". She almost totally gave up eating for three days. We all agree that having liquids force fed through a plastic syringe is no fun at all. In the midst of it all, she tearfully received four inoculation shots in her chubby little legs. Not a happy baby. After steady dosing of love, attention, and strong antibiotics, Eliza is on the mend. To make up for losses she is now eating double time and is much less stingy with the smiles. Through it all, she still had time for learning how to remove mother's eye glasses, smiling for the camera during her weekly manicure, and stuffing five toes into her mouth. She's the greatest.

That top picture is one of those that becomes a family classic in 8x10 form. She is a lucky girl, when you think of all the other ones in the world that don't get those antibiotics.
Can wait to squeeze those cheeks. Shane has even made up a song about Eliza. She is lovely.
Hello
I'm James's mother (from belgium-europe)and Sophie's grandma. I was with you in China. I'm so happy to have news and pictures about Eliza and you. She is really a pretty girl. Sorry, but I don't speak well English, because I'm French.
I hope to have news again.
